How long are you going to look the other way?

Dear Prime Minister Singh,

The overwhelming perception is that you have looked the other way while there has been gross misappropriation of public money. If these allegations are true, then those who are in the know and in a position to do something about it and don't are spineless, gutless individuals with no morality whatsoever. And those who are profiting from these misappropriations are traitors to the country whose Patriotism is questionable.

Author's Note: This was dashed off to the PM in a moment of extreme frustration. I was unaware of his interaction with the press on TV on the previous day. It appears the Press and Talking heads are more concerned with form and delivery rather than content and substance. In his Press Interaction the PM explained very clearly the pitfall of Coalition Politics and also that he was resolute in investigating corruption and prosecuting the guilty parties. It takes a certain amount of intelligence to understand the PM, which appears to be lacking in the Press and Talking Heads who are intent on sensationalizing the negatives rather than focusing on the positives.

On the 2G Scam

Dear Manmohanji,

I salute your statement regarding looking into any wrong doings with respect to the 2G allocations. This means that you acknowledge that there might have been some wrong doing.

Hopefully, you will push for a full scale investigation that follows the money trail and leaves no stone unturned. You have nothing to loose. No favours to give. It is a matter of country and no man or woman should be exempt from scrutiny.

Your integrity and love of the country is unquestioned. Your looking the other way is disappointing. Corruption is a problem and you have acknowledged it.

The Political System in India is a circus and the country makes progress around it, despite it, in spite of it.

I wish you all the strength, resolve and conviction to do our great nation proud. You owe that to the nation. You have the rest of your tenure to make a difference.  I would hope abating corruption is the highest priority in your agenda,

I would hope, you will make a strong statement, that enough is enough and it is time to institute firm checks and balances.

A Culture of Corruption Legacy

Dear Respected Manmohanji,

Corruption in our country has reached new heights. Both the 2G and CWG scandals have occurred under your watch and sorry to say "right under your nose". Is this the legacy you want to leave as the Prime Minister.  Just these two alone are the biggest scandals occurring under any PM and rivals what the British did to us.  And unless something is done to prevent such graft in the future, you will probably be overtaken by a future PM. 

The moral and ethical thing to do is to ensure the culprits are penalized, full restitution is made to the exchequer and procedures put in place to prevent such gross misconduct in the future.

Kashmir - All Party Meet

More power to you in calling an All Party meet to bring about peace in Kashmir. The people of this country are responsible for their own destiny and the people of Kashmir are no different. Except, they have not been given the opportunity to do so. Now is the time.

नमस्ते Respected Dr. Singh,

I do believe you need to intercede in addressing the issues that are tearing Kashmir apart. It has been and continues to be one of the major problems facing our country. Resolving the issues need the leadership and the stature that you and only you can provide. You would be acting as the Leader and a citizen of the country and not as a member of the UPA or Congress party.

Kashmir is akin to the Gulf of Mexico Oil spill magnified many times over. The Governor Bobby Jindal is a Republican, but the Democratic President Obama has taken an active role in attempting to resolve the issue.

Kashmir needs a hands on, seasoned approach that only you can provide as the Leader of our country. It is the Leader's problem. Our past leaders have "ignored" the problem by not taking an active role. You were the first PM to visit after a very long time. Unfortunately Dr. Abdullah tends to be a hot head and needless to say, the situation is over Omar's head. He needs your support, rather than the usual tamasha of undermining him so that your party can come to power.

The time is ripe to intercede. A simple question to ask the Separatist is what is it that they wish to achieve as an autonomous state/country and why can it not be achieved under the current situation. Their biggest issue is the blood shed that has occurred over the past thirty or so years. Ask them for solutions. Why is that they cannot be part of the solution under the current governance? It is as much their problem as ours. Even more so.

Mistakes have been made and we cannot change the past. What can be done is work towards a better future.

The Center transfers a significant amount of money to Jammu & Kashmir. This has to be made known and public. The duty of the Opposition is to be the watch dog to ensure the money is spent wisely.

The recent demand by the Opposition for your involvement is a good start. A good suggestion is to invite all the members to Dilli for a Round Table Conference. How to spin this is indeed a complex issue. Maybe polling the stake holders informally would give an indication whether they would come.

You have made numerous visits to the G20 summit. How can you ignore our own backyard which is burning?

I hope this message gets to you and you do something about it. I believe a peaceful resolution can be reached and it is your for the asking. It would be a legacy that you would leave us.

What happens to Feedback received

I would like to know what happens to the feedback received via this mechanism.

- Who sees it first?
- What does he/she do with it.
- What is the process followed to dispense with it?
- What is the quality of feedback being received?
- Is there a selection criteria to bring some of them to your attention?
- What happens to those notes that get filtered but do not make it to you?

More power to you for holding fast to the Petrol price hike. At the same time we really should look into improving the costs of refinement and delivery. A lot can be gained by examining the processing costs. We ought to benchmark against world standards and beat that.
